SDHD Pandemic Flu Blog Ex….Coming Soon!

Welcome to the Southeastern District Health Department’s Pandemic Flu BlogEx.  The exercise hasn’t started yet, but we’re loading up files and links.  Feel free to look at them even though the exercise hasn’t started.

The first post will happen on July 14, 2008. After that initial post, we’ll put up new exercise developments, story lines, documents, and links as we progress through the exercise until it ends on July 29th.

A highlight of the posts will be three mock news clips that report on the spread of the pandemic flu. Provided by the CDC, these news clips give a broad overview of how pandemic flu is expected to move across the globe and the massive affects it will have.

The BlogEx is designed to be an interactive event for everyone in the community, including private citizens, businesses, and government.  The interaction created by comments will be the key to learning how pandemic flu will affect our area.

If you want to get a jump on reading, here are two documents and one web page to start:

-         WHO’s Timeline of H5N1 http://www.who.int/csr/disease/avian_influenza/Timeline_08_05_20.pdf
